Begin your precious one week in Bhutan by coming to Siliguri via airways or railways. However, before that, you need to first complete all the formalities of immigration after which you will be driven for approximately 6 hours to reach the capital region of the country, Thimphu. Situated at an altitude of 7,710 feet, this spectacular place will showcase its splendid beauty in different ways. Besides, this place is the home to about one lakh inhabitants which includes the royal family.

Get up at an early hour in the morning of your third day which is going to be full of excitement because you will be paying your visit to a number of outstanding tourist attractions. Have your hearty Bhutanese breakfast at the hotel itself and start your expedition by visiting the first stop of the day, Kuensel Phodrang. This magnificent structure is also renowned as the Buddha Point where a gigantic statue of Shakyamuni Buddha is constructed as one of the largest Buddha idols in the world. Your first destination of the fifth day would be a scenic location, Taktsang Monastery which is famous by the name of ‘Tiger’s Nest’. To reach this stupendous and peaceful place, you need to trek for about 2 hours through the dense forest and base camp. Afterwards, you will pay your visit to Drukgyel Dzong which is recognized as one of the most valuable archaeological sites in the world. You must visit this place without any second doubt because of the strong history told by the ruins is something every tourist should listen. Kyichu monastery would be your next stop which is also the sacred jewel of Bhutan.
